ANNUAL REPOR T FOR YEAR OF 1966
lRBAN RENEWAL CG1MISSION
The year 1966 was the first full year of operation for the
Urban Renewal Agency of salina.
Members of the Urban Renewal Commission for the year were
Harold W. Eagleton, Paul W. Renich, Mildred Riddle and Leland M.
sr ack .
Robert G. Frederick served as a member until April when
his term expired.
He expressed a desire that he not be re-appointed
and Max McClintock was appointed for the succeeding term.
Dr. Renich
served as Chairman, Mr. srack as Vice-Chairman, and Mr. Eagleton as
secretary for the year.
Final plans for the Civic Center project were formulated and
approved at all levels and the Project entered the execution stage
in August.
By the end of the year, acquisition was approximately
70% completed and relocation was approximately 65% completed.
Demolition bids had been advertised with a letting date of
January 5, 1967, established.
The Northeast Industrial Park Project had been approved for
survey and planning in December of 1965.
A planning contract with
Bucher & Willis, Consultants, was executed in April 1966.
All
occupants of the Northeast Industrial Park Project were interviewed
during the year and approximately 80% of the planning contract
was fulfilled during the year.
