SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
March 25, 2004
7:45 a.m.
The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners was called to order at 7:45 a.m. in Room 107,
City -County Building. A roll call was taken.
There were present:
Mayor Alan E. Jilka, Chairman presiding
Commissioner Deborah P. Divine
Commissioner Monte D. Shadwick
Commissioner Paul G. Webb
comprising a quorum of the Board, also present:
Michael Morgan, Deputy City Manager
Rodney Franz, Director of Finance and Administration
Lieu Ann Elsey, City Clerk
Absent: Commissioner Donnie D. Marrs
Dennis Kissinger, City Manager
Greg Bengtson, City Attorney
LEVYING RETAILERS' SALES TAX
Mayor Jilka noted that Ordinance No. 04-10191 was passed on first reading on March 22,
2004 and since that time no comments have been received.
04-6331' Moved by Commissioner Divine, seconded by Commissioner Webb, to adopt Ordinance
'i No. 04-10191 on second reading. A roll call vote was taken. Aye: (4) Divine, Shadwick, Webb. Nay:
(0). Motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT

Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned. Aye: (4). Nay: (0). Motion carried. The
meeting adjourned at 7:48 a.m.

CONSENT TO HOLD A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
We, the undersigned, being duly elected, qualified and acting Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas and constituting a majority of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas, do hereby consent to the holding of a special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas on the day of March 2004, at -] :TAnrnfor the purpose of the following:
Adoption of Ordinance No. 04-10191 on second reading regarding the levying a .25
percent (equal to 1/4¢) retailers' sales tax beginning July 1, 2004 and ending June
30, 2010; and specifying the uses of the proceeds therefrom.
