A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE NAME OF A CERTAIN STREET WITHIN
THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS.
WHEREAS, the final plat of Mariposa Blocks 1-6 and addition to the City of Salina was
approved on April 4, 1989 and recorded on April 16, 1989.
WHEREAS, the City of Salina Planning Department has received a formal request from
Bob Haworth, the developer of Cedar Ridge Addition, requesting a change of a street name in the
Mariposa Addition from Mariposa Drive as shown on the final plat to Cedar Ridge Drive; and
WHEREAS, the public interest would also be served by changing the name of Cloud
Street west of Markley Road to Cedar Ridge Drive; and
WHEREAS, there are no similarly sounding or similarly spelled street names in the city
and a name change to Cedar Ridge Drive would not create confusion or impact public safety; and
WHEREAS, this formal request was considered by the Salina Planning Commission on
March 2, 2004 and they recommended approval of the request. SO NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Mariposa Drive, as shown on the recorded plat of Mariposa Blocks 1-6
an addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, be changed to Cedar Ridge Drive.
Section 2. That Cloud Street as shown on the recorded plats of the Valley View, Valley
View Estates and Briargate Additions to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, be changed to
Cedar Ridge Drive.
Section 3. That the entire collector street extending from Marymount Road on the west
to Markley Road on the east shall be shown as Cedar Ridge Drive on the Official Street Map of the
city.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from its adoption.
Section 5. That this resolution shall be filed in the office of the Saline County Register
of Deeds as a correction to the recorded plats of Mariposa Blocks 1-6, the Valley View Addition,
Valley View Estates Addition and Briargate Addition.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 22"' day of
March 2004.
