A RESOLUTION RELATING TO BENEFITS OBTAINABLE BY CITIES
UNDER THE PROGRAM FOR STATE AID ON HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE KANSAS
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE WATER WELL ROAD / I-135
INTERCHANGE PROJECT NO. 135-85-K-8254-01.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute for
and on behalf of the City of Salina, Kansas, (the "City") Agreement No. 185-00 between the City,
Saline County (the "County") and the Kansas Department of Transportation, giving the Secretary
of Transportation of the State of Kansas authority to act for the City and County, and in its place
and stead, to obtain for the City and County such benefits as are obtainable under the System
Enhancement Program of the State of Kansas and under the supervision of the Kansas Department
of Transportation and obtain the benefits of such legislation for the City and County on the terms
and conditions set forth in such agreement as may be prepared and approved by the Secretary of
Transportation for the purpose of securing approval by the Kansas Department of Transportation
of a system enhancement project for the construction of the Water Well Road / I-135 Interchange
in the City and County and known as Project No. 135-85-K-8254-01.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 26th day of
February, 2001.
