ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION
OF
LO\rE HOUSE, INC.
I, the undersigned resident of the State of Kansas, being
over eighteen years of age, do hereby establish a nonprofit cor-
poration under the statutes of the State of Kansas.
First: The name of the corpo_ration shall be Love House, Inc.,
and its location shall be 919 Sunrise Drive, City of Salina, County
of Saline, State of Kansas.
Second: The location of its registered office in Kansas is
919 S~~rise Drive, Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
Third: The name and address of its registered agent in
Kansas is: Arlene Deen, 919 Sunrise Drive, Salina, Saline County,
Kansas.
Fourth: The period of duration of this non-profit cor-
poration shall be perpetual.
Fifth: The business and purpose of this corporation shall be
primarily to provide services to children and others from disfunc-
tional families to assist them in learning to identify and communicate
their feelings and to teach them to be responsible for their own -
attitudes and behavior and to build self-esteem and self-awareness;
further to provide children and others with alternate ways to
respond to living in a disfunctional family.
Sixth: The corporation shall be non-stocK, and no dividends
or pecuniary profit shall be declared or paid to the me~,bers thereof.
Seventh: ~o part of the net earnings of the co~?or3tion

trustees, officers, or other private persons, except that the

deductible under section 170(c) (2) of the Internal Revenue Code of
1954 (or t~e corresponding provision of any future United States
Internal Revenue Law).
Eighth: Upon L~e dissolution of the corporation, the Board
of Directors shall, after paying or maKing provision for the payment
of all of the liabilities of the corporation, dispose of all of the
assets of the corporation exclusively for the purposes of the
corporation in such manner, or to such organization or organizations
organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational,
religious, or scientific purposes as shall at the time qualify as
an exempt organization or organizations under section 501(c) (3)
of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provision
of any future United States Internal Revenue Law), as the Board of
Directors shall determine. Any such assets not so disposed of shall
be disposed of by the District Court of the county in which the
principal office by the corporation is then located, exclusively
for such purposes or to such organization or organizations, as said
Court shall determine, which are organized ar.d operated exclusively
for such purposes.
Ninth: The conditions and regulations of membership and
the rights and other privileges of the classes of membership shall
be determined and fixed by the constitution and bylaws.
Tenth: The private property of the TrJEmbers of this cor-
poration shall not be liable for its corporate debts.
Eleven th: The certificate of incorpora tion may be aìT,ended
in the manner provided by the statutes of the State of Kansas at
the time of amendment.
Twelfth: The name and address of the person who is tte

CHAPTER I
GOVERNING AUTHORITY
Love House, Inc., is a non-profit program established
in February, 1986 and governed by a Board of Directors
as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation. (The
Articles of Incorporation are attached.)
The registered agent, i.e., Executive Director, shall
exercise direction over, establish policies, and be
responsible for all phases and operations of the
program. The office is established as follows:

An Advis~Commjttee will provide a communication
vehicle for the agency and provide a way for keeping
the Board of Directors informed of areas that may need
attention. The Advisory Committee- will discuss and
advise the Board on the development and implementation
of programs and services.
The Advisory Committe will consist of not less than
three and not more than ten members that will serve
on a voluntary basis and offer support and guidance
with the development of the Love House program.
A list of the Advisorv Committee Members is attached.

CHAPTER I,
Governing Authority
The Objective of Love House is to provide coordinated
services for children of chemically dependent or
dysfunctional families and other concerned persons.

The stated objectives are what we plan to accomplish
with each individual client as well as the population served:

To provide education and information about chemical
dependency as a family illness.
To identify, evaluate, develop and implement a plan
to improve a broad range of physical, psychological,
spiritual and social problems while allowing the client
to maintain their role in the community.
To provide a safe, trusting and supportive atmosphere
that will motivate, reinforce and encourage the client
to seek and maintain a healthier, more functional life.
To develop positive self-concepts and enable individuals
to recognize, accept and share their feelings.
To provide alternative ways of responding in dysfunctional
environments, learning they have choices they can make
about themselves.
To assist each individual in learning to recognize
they are responsible for their attitude and behavior.
To provide coping skills and practices that nurture
and reinforce self-esteem.
To build awareness of each persons special abilities,
uniqueness, and qualities.

satellite facilities and to assist other agencies
when possible.
