SUBJECT:
10% Liquor Tax Money
I visited with Mr. Dick Dupree, Chairman of the State
Citizens' Advisory Committee, concerning the 10% Liquor Tax
money. Mr. Dupree stated it appears the first distribution
by the State Department of Revenue was for five months through
November 30, rather than seven as originally reported. This
would account for a considerable amount of the deficiency in
anticipated receipts for the first distribution.
He also stated the State Department of Revenue is exper-
iencing several different problems in implementing the new
program. They are working on getting it straightened out,
but doing so may require several months. He is of the opinion
that the problem should be pretty well resolved by September.
We will try to keep you posted on any new developments.
