Re:
467 Funds
Dear Dennis:
The 467 funds were needed program support for all the programs for
NCA. ASAP was separated because of its state, city, and county
attachment, while the other NCA programs: prevention/education,
women, and information, received another allocation.
ASAP received $20,117.00 and NCA received $16,524.00.
through the following process:
All went
1)
The Shawnee County Alcohol and Drug Advisory Council
received projected funding maximums from the city and
county governments.
2)
The Advisory Council set four areas to receive equal
funding priority:
a)
b)
c)
d)
Prevention/Education
Intervention
Treatment
Detoxification
3)
Each submitting agency presented a request for funds.
4)
A committee was appointed to review agency requests
and make recommendations.
5)
Recommendations were made to full Advisory Council
meeting and then the Council voted on the individual
agency's amount.
6)
The Advisory Council's recommendation IsTas submitted
to the Cjty and County Commissioners.
7)
Each agency made a scheduled appearance before the
City and County Commissions to clarify any item.
A UNITED \V A Y AGENCY

8)
City and County approved requests at the funding level
submitted by the Council.
9)
City government requested an itemized budget be submitted
one month later.
The same process was instituted for this year for 1931 for 467 funds.
The process seems to be working, and we have had no problems with the
City or County governments.
