To Hon. C. R. Kirtland, Mayor,
Salina, Kansas .
We, the undersigned councilmen of the City of Salina,
Kansas, hereby respectfully request you to call a special meeting of the
city council of said city, to be held in the Council Chamber on Wednesday,
July 27th, 1910, at 5"?' _o'clock A. M. of said day, for the purpose
of considering and Maki action upon a proposed franchise ordinance,
entitled "an ordinance granting to Thomas H. Smith, his successors and
assigns, the right to manufacture, distribute and sell electricity dud -
gas for light, heat, power and other purposes in the city of Salina; to •
use and occupy the streets,alleys and public grounds of the said city for
the erection and maintenance of poles, wires and conduits, and for the
laying of the mains and pipes therefor; and contracting with the said

streets, public buildings and grounds of said city, and repealing Ordi-
nance No. 1218, passed and approved March 8, 1904, and repealing Ordi-
nance No . 1560, passed and. approved June 30, 1910. "
