With alcohol and other drug abuse rising in alarming proportions
across the nation, 16 Kansas organizations have banded together to
present a state-wide conference for professionals on alcohol and drug
abuse.
The meeting, AN AMERICAN CRISIS:
WELLNESS vs ABUSE is scheduled
for April 13 and 14 at the Bicentennial Center, Salina.
Sponsors are
the Kansas Medical Society and the Kansas Department of Social and
Rehabil itation Services, Alcohol/Drug Abuse Services.
!IWe see this conference as imperative,11 said Kermit G. Wedel, M.D.,
President of the Kansas Medical Society.

participants to take an in-depth look at how to prevent, intervene and
treat alcohol and other drug abuse problems.11
