The sharp increase in occurences of drinking and driving among young people, in particular, has presented problems on many levels. As the number one killer of young people, law enforcement authorities are concerned about the rise in "driving under the influence" arrests and the proper rehabilitation of those convicted. Legislators are confronted with having to re-examine current laws as they pertain to the legal age for the purchase of alcoholic beverages by young people. And trusting friends of those people who have been arrested are, oftentimes, faced with how to most effectively help their friends with their problem, a delicate and sensitive position that Tootie is unprepared for, but finds herself caught up in, nonetheless. Those responsible for this episode of "The Facts of Life" include series stars Charlotte Rae, Lisa Whelchel, Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn and Nancy McKeon; guest stars Kevin Sullivan and Michael Harrington; executive producers Jerry Mayer and Jack Elinson; producers Linda Marsh &. Margie Peters; director Asaad Kelada; and script writer Jerry Mayer. "The Facts of Life" is an Embassy Television production.
