04-6036 Senior House Tax CreditConwlwetea-Salina — RESOLUTION NUMBER 04-6036 A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR AN AFFORDABLE MULTI- FAMILY SENIORS HOUSING PROJECT TO BE LOCATED Ill THE FORMER ROOSEVELT -LINCOLN MIDDLE SCHOOL IN THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS. WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas has been informed that Pioneer Group, Inc. has filed a housing tax credit application with the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation for the development of affordable rental housing for seniors in the Roosevelt and Lincoln Buildings on the former Roosevelt -Lincoln Middle School campus at 210 West Mulberry Street in Salina; and WHEREAS, sixty (60) units will have affordable rents targeted to elderly persons with low to moderate income; and WHEREAS, the development will involve the rehabilitation and reuse of historically and architecturally significant school buildings; and WHEREAS, the development has certain amenities including on-site storage facilities and leasing office, laundry facilities, meeting rooms, and garden areas; and WHEREAS, the developer has not requested any local financial assistance. SO NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the Governing Body supports and approves the development of the aforesaid housing in our community, subject to city codes and ordinances, final zoning and site plan approval, and the building permit review process. Section 2. That in the event that any of the characteristics mentioned above should change prior to the issuance of a building permit, this resolution shall become null and void. Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption until January 26, 2005.
