The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Meeting
Room, City -County Building, on Monday, July 23, 1984 at four p.m.
There were present:

PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN TIME
CONSENT AGENDA
(6.1) Approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting July 16, 1984.
(6.2) City Engineer files plans and specifications for bituminous overlay and
machine laid seal for street improvements in Engineering Project 84-723. Set
August 2, 1984 as the date to receive bids.
(6.3) City Engineer files plans and specifications for latex modified slurry
seal for street improvements in Engineering Project 84-722. Set August 2, 1984
as the date to receive bids.
(6.4) Authorize the City Manager to sign a Project Agreement with the Kansas
State Historical Society for an Historic Preservation Grant.

and set the date of August 6, 1984 at 4:00 p.m. for a public hearing.

(8.2) Second Reading Ordinance Number 84-9030, levying special assessments
on lots, pieces, and parcels of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, for
improvements in Crawford Street from 360 feet west of the center line of Ohio
Street to 360 feet east of the center line of Marymount Road. (Engineering
Project 82-692)
Moved by Commissioner Ritter, seconded by Commissioner Bonilla that
Ordinance Number 84-9030, levying special assessments on lots, pieces, and
parcels of ground in the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, for the purpose
of paying a portion of the cost of curbing, guttering, paving, grading,
compaction, drainage structures and utility improvements in Crawford Street from
360 feet west of the center line of Ohio Street to 360 feet east of the center
line of Marymount Road, be adopted. Aye: Bonilla, Burgess, Hodges, Ritter, Roth
(5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted.
(8.3) Second Reading Ordinance Number 84-9031, levying special assessments on
lots, pieces, and parcels of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, water main
improvements in Cloud Street (Engineering Project 83-710)
Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Ritter that
Ordinance Number 84-9031, levying special assessments on lots, pieces, and
parcels of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, for the purpose of paying a
portion of the cost of water main improvements in Cloud Street to serve property
on both sides of Cloud Street from Parkwood Drive, east to the flood control
right-of-way, be adopted. Aye: Bonilla, Burgess, Hodges, Ritter, Roth (5). Nay:
(0). Motion adopted.
(8.4) Second Reading Ordinance Number 84-9032, providing for the rezoning of
the North i of Lot 172 on Fifth Street, Original Townsite. [Z84-9 filed by Nola
Pauline Vering)
Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Bonilla that
Ordinance Number 84-9032, providing for the amendment of Ordinance Number 8526,
the same being Chapter 42 of the Salina Code, and the Zoning District Map therein
and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the
city and prescribing the proper uses thereof, be adopted. Aye: Bonilla, Burgess,
Hodges, Ritter, Roth (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted.
(8.5) Second Reading Ordinance Number 84-9033, providing for the vacation of
certain street right-of-way on Fairdale Road in Eastridge Addition to the City of
Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
Moved by Commissioner Burgess, seconded by Commissioner Bonilla that
Ordinance Number 84-9033, providing for the vacation of certain street
right-of-way on Fairdale Road in Eastridge Addition to the City of Salina, Saline
County, Kansas, be adopted. Aye: Bonilla, Burgess, Hodges, Ritter, Roth (5).
Nay: (0). Motion adopted.
