REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission
Meeting Room, City-County Building, on Monday, January 28, 1985, at four p.m.
There were present:
Mayor Charles B. Roth, Chairman presiding
Commissioner John F. Burgess
Commissioner Merle A. Hodges
Commissioner Joseph M. Ritter
comprising a quorum of the Board, also present:

PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN TIME

CONSENT AGENDA
(6.1) Approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting January 21, 1985,
(6.2) Resolution Number 85-3763 - authorizing and ordering certain
sanitary sewer improvements, ordering preparation of plans and specifications,
and the estimate of costs. (Block 2, Meyer Addition)
(6.3) Set the date of February 11, 1985 for public hearing on the proposed
special assessments for Engineering Project 83-711 for curbing, guttering,
paving, grading, and storm sewer improvements in Mayfair Addition.
(6.4) Resolution Number 85-3764 - authorizing the Mayor to sign an
agreement between the Union Pacific Railroad Company, the Kansas Department
of Transportation and the City of Salina, Kansas. [Bridge replacement project
at Fourth Street and Iron Avenue]
(6.5) Authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement with Bucher, Willis &
Ratliff for a feasibility study covering the addition of toilets, concessions,
dressing rooms and production space at the Bicentennial Center.
85-18 Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Ritter that
items on the Consent Agenda be approved. Aye.. (4). Nay.' (0). Motion

DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS
(7.1) Recommendation from the City Planning Commission that Planned
Development District application 84-1, filed by M & S Enterprises, Inc. for
the rezoning o~f Lot 1, Block 2, Meyer Addition to PDD be approved.
(Introduce Ordinance Number 85-9060 for first reading.)
85-19 Moved by Commissioner Ritter, seconded by Commissioner Hodges that
the recommendation of the City Planning Commission be accepted and that
Ordinance Number 85-9060, providing for the amendment of ordinance number
8526, the same being Chapter 42 of the Salina Code, and the zoning district
therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property
within the city and prescribing the proper uses thereof, be introduced for
first reading. Aye: (4). Nay: (0). Motion adopted.
ADMINISTRATION
(8.1) First Reading Ordinance Number 85-9061 - providing for the vacation
of an east-west alley in Wights Addition. [Requested in Petition Number 3889,
filed by Thomas E. Darnell]
85-20 Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Burgess
that Ordinance Number 85-9061, providing for the vacation of an east-west alley
in Wights Addition, be introduced for first reading. Aye.' (4). Nay: (0).
Motion adopted.

the Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned. Aye: (4).
Nay: (0). Motion adopted. The meeting adjourned at 4:02 p.m.
