SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MARCH 27, 1985
4:00 p.m.
The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission
Meeting Room, City-County Building, on Wednesday, March 27, 1985, at five pm
for the following purposes, to wit:
(1) To consider Petition Number 3895, filed by property owners within the
proposed benefit district which requests that the following improvements
be made in the Central Business District: Acquisition and improvement
of property for approximately 290 to 350 off-street parking spaces;
acquisition of property and construction of arcades and cross walks;
improvement of streets and other facilities by landscaping and weather
shelters; relocation and burial of utilities. [This petition should
be referred to the Staff for a report on the sufficiency of the signers.]
(2) To consider the adoption of Resolution Number 85-3770 which directs and
orders a public hearing on a petition which requests that the following
improvements be made in the Central Business District: Acquisition and
improvement of property for approximately 290 to 350 off-street parking
spaces; acquisition of property and construction of arcades and cross
walks; improvement of streets and other facilities by landscaping and
weather shelters; relocation and burial of utilities; and to set a date
for said public hearing and directing the City Clerk give notice of the
time and place thereof.

85-56 Moved by Commissioner Burgess, seconded by Commissioner Bonilla
that Petition Number 3895 be referred to Staff for checking and a report on
the sufficiency of signers.
85-57 Moved by Commissioner Bonilla, seconded by Commissioner Burgess
that Resolution Number 85-3770, directing and ordering a public hearing on the
advisability of the acquisition and improvement of property for approximately
290 to 350 off-street parking spaces; acquisition of property and construction
of arcades and crosswalks; improvement of streets and other facilities by
landscaping and weather shelters; relocation and burial of utilities in the
Central Business District and giving notice of such hearing, be adopted.

adopted.
85-58 Moved by Commissioner Ritter, seconded by Commissioner Burgess that
the Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned. Aye: (4).
Nay: (0). Motion adopted. The meeting adjourned at 5:06 p.m.

We, the undersigned, being duly elected, qualified and acting City
Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, do hereby waive notice of a special
meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, to be held
on the 27th day of March, 1985, at 5:00 p.m. for the following purposes,
to wit:
(1) To consider Petition Number 3895, filed by property owners within the
proposed benefit district which requests that the following
improvements be made in the Central Business District: Acquisition
and improvement of property for approximately 290 to 350 off-street
parking spaces; acquisition of property and construction of arcades
