ORDINANCE NUMBER 03-10180
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34, ARTICLE III, SECTION 34-52 OF
THE SALINA CODE BY ADDING PROVISIONS PERTAINING TO ADOPTION OF
ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATIONS AND VARIATIONS FROM VEHICLE
STANDARDS AND REPEALING EXISTING SECTION 34-52.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Sectionl. That Section 34-52 of Chapter 34, Article III of the Salina Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Section 34-52. Additional regulations authorized.
The city manager shall make, adopt and publish such rules as may be necessary to
make this article effective and facilitate the systematic collection, handling and disposal of
refuse including the authority to approve variations from vehicle standards and requirements
in Section 34-51. Variations may be approved when alternate means of comparably
protecting the public health and safety are proposed by an authorized collector of refuse."
Section 2. That the existing Section 34-52 is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption
and publication once in the official city newspaper.
