07-08-1985 Minutes CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS JULY 8, 1985 4:00 p.m. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Meeting Room, City-County Building, on Monday, July 8, 1985, at four p.m. There were present: Mayor Merle A. Hodges, Chairman presiding Commissioner John F. Burgess Commissioner Joseph M. Ritter Commissioner Stephen C. Ryan Commissioner Sydney S. Soderberg comprising a quorum of the Board, also present: L. O. Bengtson, City Attorney D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Rufus L. Nye, City Manager Absent: None CITIZEN FORUM None AWARDS - PROCLAMATIONS None PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN TIME None CONSENT AGENDA (6.1) Approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting July 1, 1985. (6.2) Resolution Number 85-3792 - appropriating the sum of $1,017,000.00 being the contract price for materials and labor supplied and furnished in the matter of the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving, grading, water and sanitary sewer improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, and further providing for the issuance of one temporary note in the sum of $1,017,000.00 for the payment therefor. DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS None ADMINISTRATION (8.1) First Reading Ordinance Number 85-9079 - concerning the Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas cities, Edition of 1985; Amending Section 30 of said Ordinance relating to driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs; amending Section 194 relating to driving while a license is canceled, suspended or revoked; adding a new section numbered 201a relating to failure to comply with a traffic citation; and repealing the original Sections 30 and 194 of said ordinance. 85-135 Moved by Commissioner Burgess, seconded by Commissioner Ryan that Ordinance Number 85-9079, concerning the Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas cities, Edition of 1985; Amending Section 30 of said Ordinance relating to driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs; amending Section 194 relating to driving while a license is canceled, suspended or revoked; adding a new section numbered 201a relating to failure to comply with a traffic citation; and repealing the original Sections 30 and 194 of said ordinance, be introduced for first reading. OTHER BUSINESS The Mayor, with the approval of the City Commissioners made the following appointments: Recreation Commission Ray Snyder, appointed to succeed Jerry Brown, for a four year term to June 30, 1989. 85-136 Moved by Commissioner Burgess, seconded by Commissioner Ryan that the Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned.
