REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission
Meeting Room, City-County Building, on Monday, December 23, 1985, at four
p.m.
There were present:
Mayor Merle A. Hodges, Chairman presiding
Commissioner John F. Burgess
Commissioner Joseph M. Ritter
Commissioner Stephen C. Ryan
Commissioner Sydney S. Soderberg
comprising a quorum of the Board, also present:
D. L. Harrison, City Clerk

AWARDS- PROCLAMATIONS
None
PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN TIME
(5.1) Public Hearing on the possible issuance of $150,000 Economic
Development Revenue Bonds for Warta Buick, Inc.
(5.1a) Resolution Number 85-3821 - expressing the intention of the City of
Salina, Kansas, to issue Revenue Bonds in the amount of not to exceed
$150,000 for the purpose of financing the cost of purchasing, constructing,
furnishing and equipping an automobile body shop facility for Warta Buick,
Inc.
There were no protests, written or oral, and the Mayor declared the
public hearing closed.
85-306 Moved by Commissioner Burgess, seconded by Commissioner Ritter that
Resolution Number 85-3821, expressing the intention of the City of Salina,
Kansas, to issue Revenue Bonds in the amount of not to exceed $150,000 for the

that all items on the Consent Agenda be approved. Aye: (5). Nay: (0).

ADMINISTRATION
(8.1) Second Reading Ordinance Number 85-9116, reducing the area required
for Group Day Care Centers and/or nursery schools in residential districts;
amending Sections 42-130, 42-144, 42-145, 42-159, 42-160, 42-174, 42-175,
42-189, 42-290, 42-204, 42-205, 42-220, 42-221 of the Salina Code and repealing
the existing sections.
85-308 Moved by Commissioner Ritter, seconded by Commissioner Soderberg
that Ordinance Number 85-9116, reducing the area required for Group Day Care
Centers and/or nursery schools in residential districts; amending Sections
42-130, 42-144, 42-145, 42-159, 42-160, 42-174, 42-175, 42-189, 42-290, 42-204,
42-205, 42-220, 42-221 of the Salina Code and repealing the existing sections, be

Motion adopted.
(8.2) Authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement with the Salina Area
Chamber of Commerce to develop and administer a Tourism and Convention
Program funded by the 2% Hotel and Motel Transient Tax.

the Mayor be authorized to sign an agreement with the Salina Area Chamber of
Commerce to develop and administer a Tourism and Convention Program funded
by the 2% Hotel and Motel Transient Tax.
