ORDINANCE NUMBER 03-10142
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TRACTS
OF LAND, IN SALINE COUNTY, KANSAS IN CONFORMITY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF
K.S.A. 12-519 TO 12-526, INCLUSIVE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the following described tract of land, to -wit:
TRACT 1:
A tract of land lying in the Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of Section 29, township 14
South, Range 2 West of the Sixth (6th) Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, and
being more Particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of said Section 29; thence N 89° 49'
41" E along the North line of said Section 29, a distance. of 275.00 feet to
the true POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing N 89° 49' 41" E along
the North line of said Section 29, a distance of 1791.37 feet to the
Northwest Corner of Valley View Addition; thence S 00° 05' 02" E along
the West line of Valley View Addition, a distance of 16.00'; thence S 89°
49' 41" W along a line 16.00 feet south of and parallel to the north line of
said Section 29, a distance of 1775.35 feet; thence N 45° 10' 19" W a
distance of 22.63 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
The above described tract contains 28,533.7233 square feet or 0.655 acres, more or less.
TRACT 2:
A tract of land lying in Section 20, Township 14 South, Range 2 West of the 6th
Principal Meridian, City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, and being more particularly
described as follows:
Commencing at the Southwest Corner of Section, 20 Township 14 South,
Range 2 West, thence N 89° 49' 41" E along the south line of said Section
20, said line also being the south line of MARIPOSA, (Blocks 1-6), an
Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, recorded in Plat
Book A-8, at Page 25 of the records of said county, a distance of 370.04
feet to the true POINT OF BEGINNING; thence N 00° 38' 43" E along the
easterly boundary of said MARIPOSA, (Blocks 1-6), a distance of 910.91
feet to a point on the south right-of-way line of Mariposa Drive, also the
southerly boundary of said MARIPOSA, (Blocks 1-6); thence S 89° 21'
17" E along said line, a distance of 64.96 feet; thence continuing along said
line through a curve to the Right having a Radius of 370.00 feet, an Arc
Length of 149.70 feet, the Long Chord of which bears S 77° 45' 51" E, a
distance of 148.68 feet; thence S 66° 10' 24" E continuing along the
aforesaid line, a distance of 185.75 feet; thence continuing along said line
through a curve to the Left, having a Radius of 830.00 feet, an Arc Length
of 335.81 feet, the Long Chord of which bears S 77° 45' 50" E, a distance
of 333.52 feet; thence S 89° 21' 17" E along the aforementioned line, a
distance of 161.76 feet; thence N 00° 38' 43" E along the easterly boundary
of the aforementioned MARIPOSA, (Blocks 1-6), a distance of 920.88 feet
to a point on the boundary of the Salina Municipal Golf Course; thence

continuing NO2° 07' 50" E and remaining along the boundary of the Salina
Municipal Golf Course, a distance of 525.72 feet; thence: S 85° 54' 00" E,
a distance of 375.95 feet; thence S 26° 00' 00" W, a distance of 148.00
feet; thence S 03° 50' 00" E, a distance of 150.30 feet; thence S 02° 27'
30" W, a distance of 214.71 feet to a point on the south line of the North
One -Half of said Section 20, said point being N 89° 49' 47" E along said
south line, a distance of 2.79 feet from the Southeast Corner of the
Northwest One -Quarter of said Section 20; thence continuing S 02° 27'
30" W along the boundary of the Salina Municipal Golf Course, a distance
of 86.78 feet to a point on the east line of the Southwest One -Quarter of
said Section 20; thence continuing S 02° 27' 30" W, a distance of 460.82
feet; thence S 17° 33' 50" E, a distance of 47.50 feet to a point on the
aforesaid east line of the Southwest One -Quarter of said Section 20; thence
continuing S 17° 33' 50" E, a distance of 559.40 feet; thence S 58° 32' 00"
W, a distance of 205.99 feet to a point on the aforementioned east line of
the Southwest One -Quarter; thence continuing S 58° 32' 00" W, a distance
of 962.76 feet; thence S 29° 13' 45" E, a distance of 268.00 feet; thence
S 58° 45' 00" E, a distance of 141.00 feet; thence N 80° 01' 30" E, a
distance of 561.30 feet to the Northwest Corner of MARIPOSA, (Block 7),
an Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, recorded in Plat
Book A-8, at Page 26 of said county records; thence S 00° 36' 38" W along
the west line of said MARIPOSA, (Block 7), a distance of 694.23 feet to a
point on the south line of the Southwest One -Quarter of Section 20,
Township 14 South, Range 2 West, said point being S 89° 49' 41" W along
said south line, a distance of 9.20 feet from the Southeast Corner of said
Southwest One -Quarter; thence S 89° 49' 41" W along, the south line of
said Southwest One -Quarter, a distance of 2248.55 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
Said tract contains 3,213,345 square feet, or 73.768 acres, more or less.
meeting one or more of the classifications for annexation prescribed by K.S.A. 12-519 to 12-526,
inclusive, is hereby annexed and made a part of the City of Salina, Kansas.
Section 2. That the tracts of land described in Section 1 above shall be zoned "A-1"
AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT upon annexation into the city.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption
and publication once in the official city newspaper.
