RESOLUTION NUMBER 15-7182
A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH THE BOARD OF CITY COMMISSIONERS
FINDINGS THAT A CERTAIN STRUCTURE IS UNSAFE OR DANGEROUS, DIRECTING
THE STRUCTURE TO BE REPAIRED OR REMOVED, AND FIXING A REASONABLE
TIME WITHIN WHICH THE REPAIR OR REMOVAL OF SUCH STRUCTURE SHALL
BE COMMENCED AND COMPLETED.
WHEREAS, on January 12, 2015, the City's Building Official filed with the Governing Body
of the City of Salina, Kansas a written statement that certain structures located within the City of
Salina were unsafe or dangerous;. and
WHEREAS, of those structures included in the Building Official's written statement, the
Building Official has advised the Governing Body that the following structure located upon the
described real estate continue to be unsafe or dangerous:

parcel being in the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas; and
WHEREAS, on January 12, 2015, the Governing Body adopted Resolution Number 15-7170,
determining 4:00 p.m. on February 23, 2015, in Room 107 of the City -County Building, 300 West
Ash, Salina, Kansas, to be the time and place at which the owner, the owner's agent, any lien holders
of record, and any occupant of such structure could appear and show cause why such structure
should not be condemned and ordered repaired or removed, and
WHEREAS, notice of the time and place of the hearing was given as required by law; and
WHEREAS, upon considering the evidence presented regarding the structure located upon the
above described real estate, the Governing Body desires to make its findings and direct certain action
in relation to the structure. SO NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. The following findings are made regarding the structure located upon the real
estate described above:
"The building and structure was found to be dangerous and that such conditions or
defects exist to the extent that the life; health, property or safety of the public or the
occupants is endangered."
Section 2. The owner or agent is hereby directed to repair or remove the building or structure
described above, and to make the premises safe and secure. Such work shall be commenced on or
before March 9, 2015 on all tracts and shall be diligently prosecuted so as to allow for substantial
completion of the work on or before April 10, 2015.
Section 3. If the owner or agent fails to commence the repair or the removal as directed within
the time stated or fails to diligently prosecute the work until the work is substantially completed
within the stated time period, the Governing Body will cause the buildings or structures to be
repaired or razed and removed pursuant to K.S.A. 12-1755.
Section 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the
Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk shall cause it to be published once in the official city
newspaper as required by K.S.A. 12-1753.
