CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
AUGUST 31, 1987
4:00 p.m.
The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Meeting
Room, City -County Building, on Thursday, August 31, 1987, at 4:00 p.m. for
the purpose of considering and voting upon personnel matters relating to the
City of Salina
There were present:
Mayor Stephen C. Ryan, Chairman presiding
Commissioner Robert E. Frank
Commissioner Vi Justus
Commissioner Sydney S. Soderberg
Commissioner Joseph A. Warner
comprising a quorum of the Board, also present:
Greg Bengtson, City Attorney
Robert K. Biles, City Clerk
Rufus L. Nye, City Manager
Absent:
None
Moved by Commissioner Warner, seconded by Commissioner Soderberg
to adjorn into executive session for thirty minutes to discuss administrative
personnel matters. Aye: (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted.
The Commission recessed at 4:08 p.m. and reconvened at 4:38 p.m.
Mayor Ryan called the special session back to order. Mayor Ryan read
a letter of resignation from City Manager, Rufus L. Nye.
Moved by Mayor Ryan, seconded by Commissioner Frank, to accept Mr.
Nye's resignation and authorize the Mayor to take any necessary administrative
action to implement the resignation. Aye: (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted.
Moved by Mayor Ryan, seconded by Commissioner Warner that the
Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned. Aye: (5). Nay:
(0). Motion adopted. The meeting adjourned at 4:42 p.m.
