04-27-1987 MinutesCommission 87-61 87-62 CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS APRIL 27, 1987 4:00 p.m. The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met in the Commission Meeting Room, City -County Building, on Monday, April 27, 1987, at four p.m. There were present: Mayor Stephen C. Ryan, Chairman presiding Commissioner Robert E. Frank Commissioner Vi Justus Commissioner Sydney S. Soderberg Commissioner Joseph A. Warner comprising a quorum of the Board, also present: Greg Bengtson, City Attorney D. L. Harrison, City Clerk Rufus L. Nye, City Manager Absent: None None CITIZEN! FORUM AWARDS - PROCLAMATIONS (4.1) The Mayor proclaimed the Week of April 26 through May 2, 1987 - "NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK". The proclamation was read by Mary Lou Odle, Member of the Volunteer Task Force for Community Services Council. (4.2) The Mayor proclaimed the Week of April 26 through May 2, 1987 - "AMERICAN HOME WEEK". The proclamation was read by Elly Ritter, President of the Salina Board of Realtors. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR A CERTAIN TIME None CONSENT AGENDA (6.1) Approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting April 20, 1987. Commissioner Soderberg asked that Commission Action Number 87-54 of the April 20, 1987 minutes be corrected to read: "Moved by Commissioner Hodges, seconded by Commissioner Burgess that all items on the Consent Agenda be approved. Aye: (5) . Nay- (0) . Motion adopted." Moved by Commissioner Frank, seconded by Commissioner Justus that the item on the Consent Agenda be approved as corrected. Aye: (5). Nay: (0) . Motion adopted. None DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (8.1) Second Reading Ordinance Number 87-9181 - providing for the rezoning of Lot 7, Block 1, Replat of Edgemere Addition to C-5 (Service Commercial District) Moved by Commissioner Soderberg, seconded by Commissioner Warner that Ordinance Number 87-9181, providing for the amendment of Ordinance Number 8526, the same being Chapter 42 of the Salina Code, and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof, be adopted. Aye: Frank, Justus, Soderberg, Warner, Ryan (5). Nay: (0). Motion adopted. j Commission 87-63 (8.2) First Reading Ordinance Number 87-9182 - amending Section 40-88 of the Salina Code pertaining to insurance requirements for taxicabs and repealing the existing section. Moved by Commissioner Soderberg, seconded by Commissioner Frank that Ordinance Number 87-9182, amending Section 40-88 of the Salina Code pertaining to insurance requirements for taxicabs and repealing the existing section, be introduced for first reading. Aye: (5) . Nay: (0) . Motion adopted.
