04-15-2014 Minutes 1026 The regular monthly meeting of the Salina Public Library Board of Trustees was held at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18th, in the Tech Center Conference Room. The following Board members were present: Mary Shaffer, Christi Manley, Karen Bonar, David Greiser, David Parks, Karma DeForest, Mary Lemon and Randy Hardy . Others present were Joe McKenzie, Sandra Wilcox, Amy Adams and Mike Wilson, the observer for the league of women voters. MINUTES: • Mary Shaffer asked for any changes or additions to the March Board meeting minutes. 14-08 On a motion made by Karma DeForest and Seconded by David Parks it was RESOLVED THAT: The Board of Trustees of the Salina Public Library approves the minutes of the March Board meeting as written. Motion passed. Pg 1026, 04/15/14 PUBLIC COMMENTS: FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY: The Friends met last week. They have approved four scholarships. •ORIENTATION: Amy Adams, PR Coordinator Amy Adams is the Library PR Coordinator, she spoke to the Board about past, current and future PR at the Library. At the beginning of the year we started a very focused campaign on our Virtual Library to help awareness of what the library offers in that area. It is National Library Week this week. Several downtown business have agreed to give patrons discounts if they show their library card. We have already started to work on promoting the Summer Reading Program. Lori has started doing lobby stops and pop up library events. In August, Amy will be leaving on maternity leave, so'she is making a plan to keep things flowing dining that time. The Board asked several questions about Stats. DISCUSSION/ACTION: Report of Nominating Committee Karma DeForest reported on the recommendation of the Nominating Committee. Christi Manley-President Karen Bonar- Vice President Many Lemon -Secretary/Treasurer 14-08 On a motion made by David Greiser and seconded by David Parks it was RESOLVED THAT: The Board of Trustees of Salina Public Library approves the the proposed slate of officers.
