A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFERING FOR SALE OF
APPROXIMATELY $5,275,000 PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF GENERAL OBLIGATION
MUNICIPAL TEMPORARY NOTES (STREET, DRAINAGE AND SUBDIVISION
PROJECTS), SERIES 1999-1.
WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas (the "City") desires to renew its General
Obligation Municipal Temporary Notes (Street and Subdivision projects), Series 1997-3 (the "Series
1997-3 Notes"), and is proceeding with the following additional improvements (collectively, the
"Project"):
1. Eastgate Drainage
2. 91 and Claflin Drainage
3. Eastview Estates
4. Riffel, Phase II
5. Sidewalk Improvements on the east side of Ohio, Cloud to Albert
6. Sidewalk Improvements on the south side of Pacific Ave., Second to Ninth
7. Sidewalk Improvements on the north side of Crawford, Marymount to Fairdale
8. Sidewalk Improvements on the west side of Ohio, Prescott to Edison
9. Sidewalk Improvements on the east side of Ninth, Otto to Saturn; and
WHEREAS, the City is authorized to issue its general obligation bonds under the
authority of K.S.A. 10-101 et sea., K.S.A. 12-685 et seg. and K.S.A. 13-1055a et sea. to renew the
Series 1997-3 Notes and to finance the Project; and
WHEREAS, pending the issuance of the general obligation bonds, the City wishes to
renew the Series 1997-3 Notes and to provide temporary financing for the Project through the
issuance by the City if its notes (the "Notes") in the principal amount of $5,275,000;
Kansas:
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. That the Finance Director and City Clerk are hereby authorized to obtain
bids for the Notes from prospective purchasers of the Notes and to present the results of such bids to
the governing body of the City for approval in connection with the authorization of the Notes by the
governing body of the City.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
Adopted by the governing body of the City of Salina, Kansas this 251 day of January,
1999.
