w The special meeting of the Board of Commissioners was called to order at 10:00 a.m. in Room
N 107, City -County Building. A roll call was taken.
o Those present and comprising a quorum: Mayor Barbara V. Shirley (presiding),
Commissioners Jon R. Blanchard, Kaye J. Crawford, Randall R. Hardy, and Aaron
Householter.
Also present: Jason A. Gage, City Manager; Michael D. Schrage, Deputy City Manager;
Aaron O. Martin, Legal Counsel; and Lieu Ann Elsey, City Clerk
(2.1) Grand Avenue Bridge
Jason Gage, City Manager, outlined the agreement, specifically noting the cost,
surface deck repair and overlay, cost sharing, bridge closure, traffic flow,
inspections, and annexing of the bridge and roadway.
Dennis Lauver, Chamber of Commerce, thanked staff for their work and
commented on the importance of property access.
Commissioner Blanchard concurred with Mr. Lauver and thanked staff for reaching
a solution.
Mr. Lauver then thanked Mike Montoya, legal counsel for Saline County.
Commissioner Crawford commented that she was thankful that the City and
County were able to reach an agreement.
13-0336 Moved by Commissioner Crawford, seconded by Commissioner Blanchard, to adopt
Resolution No. 13-7031 authorizing a partnership agreement with Saline County for the
joint funding of repairs to the Grand Avenue Bridge. Ave: (5). Nay: (0). Motion carried.
