Untitled (14) Order of Business and Rules of order The order of business shall be as follows; I ' st. Roll Call • 2' nd. Reading the journal and approval thereof. 3 ' rd Reports of committees, in the following order, viz ; I ' s t Ways and Means 2' nd . Claims. 3' rd. Streets and alleys. 4' th. Side Walks. 5' th Corporations and Franchises. 6' th. Buildings. 7' th. Fire Department. 8' th. Public Health. q 4' th. Reports of Special ,C4mmittes. 5 ' th. Unfinished Business. 6 6' th. New Business. Rules of Order. T ' st. All motions and .resolutions introducing new busi- ness shall when introduced be read, and at once referred by • the Mayor to the proper committee , which shall report to the council thereon at its next regular meeting,unless the time for such report be extended by the council. 2nd. All ordinances( Except appropriations for payment of claims previously authorized)shall be read once,and then referred by the mayor to the appropriate cornmittee,which committee shall report thereon at the next regular meet- ing of the council,unless further time for such report be given bit the council. 3rd. Robert' s ,Rules of Order shall govern the proceedings of the council in all cases not provided for by law, ordin:aw or- the foregoing-_rtles.. 4th.
