ORDINANCE 12-10639 WHICH WAS TITLED "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER
13, OF THE SALINA CODE PERTAINING TO EQUAL OPPORTUNITY AND
w AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AND REPEALING EXISTING CHAPTER 13" PASSED BY THE
GOVERNING BODY OF SALINA, KANSAS ON MAY 21, 2012 TO BE EFFECTIVE ON
JUNE 4, 2012.
' BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. Ordinance Number 12-10639 of the City of Salina, Kansas, is repeated.
Section 1. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its adoption by the
Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, or after approval by a majority of the qualified
voters of the City of Salina, Kansas.

[This ordinance is a valid and binding ordinance of the City of Salina Kansas pursuant to the Kansas
Initiative and Referendum statue (K.S.A. 12-3013) because a majority of the qualified electors voting on the
proposed ordinance voted in favor thereof in the special city election held in conjunction with the general
election on November 6, 2012, as certified by the attached letter date November 19, 2012 from County
Election Officer, Donald R. Merriman, to the City Clerk.]

repeal of Ordinance Number 12-10639, amending Chapter 13 of the City of Salina Code
pertaining to equal opportunity and affirmative action.
The following vote totals include the Intermediate Vote Canvass conducted on November 15,
2012 by the Board of County Canvassers:
For the repeal of ordinance (yes) 9,191 (54.03%)
Against the repeal of ordinance (no) 7,819 (45.97%)
