1013 Agr Airport Estimate3 RESOL !TJ,.1 ,)IT hTBr . 1013__ M � A RESOLUTION directing that a detailed estimate of the cost of certain improvezients and acquisition of land, bein;^ the actual cost of land to be acquired outside the limits of the City of Salina, Kansas, to extend the 1,1unieipal Airport of said city,, and actual cost of improving, equipping and developing said lands to be acquired, and the lands now constituting said Municipal Airport for aviation pur- poses, shall be made under oath by Murray A. Wilson, a competent engineer, and providing for the submission thereof, all preliminary to the issuance of bonds by said city to pas,, the city's share of the cost of said acquisitn.on and improvements as heretofore duly authorized by the qualified electors of said city. VVH12EAS, at an election duly held in the City of Salina, Kansas, on June 24, 1947, there was submitted to the qualified electors of said city, in the manner and form required by law, the proposition of "Shall the City ofSalina issue its bonds in the amount of $203,25U.UU for the purpose of purchasing and acquiring land to extend the municipal airport and to im)rove, equip and develop all of the municipal airport, as extended, for aviation purposes, the proceeds of said bonds to be used for the purpose of paying the city's share oLL' the cost of a total project estimated at a cost of $400,000.UO, the balance of the remainder of said total cost to be paid on a ratio of one-half the total cost of said improvements and one-fourth of the actual cost of said land to be acquired by a grant of funds to be obtained from the Civil Aeuronautics Administration or some similar federal agency, tinthich said grant shall be used exclusively to aid the City of Salina in paying the cosi; of said project." all pursuant to Ordinance Eumber 5221; and VtiHEREAS, all directives of said Ordinance Number 5221 and the laws of the State of Kansas, rel tinm to smch elections, were fully and timely complied with; and WH .RXP,,S, the Civil Aeronautics Administration, or some similar agency, is a Unit of the Government of the United States of America, will contribute fifty (5UI.) per centum of the actual cost of said improvements, and twenty five (25%) per centtzr. of the cost of land to be acquired, and. a sum not to exceed $196,750.00; and VMMREIiS, at said election, which was duly and regularly held, a majority of the votes cast thereat upon said proaosition were cast in favor of authorizing the said citi,r to issue its bonds in said sum for said purposes; and SO 70 , TH`3REFORE: BE IT RE ' iLVED BY THE 30,�� 3D OF C OVMI S S IOt -iki S OF THE CITY OF' S!'1LI 1A, K.t:1 SAS : Section 1. That the fore�olnfr preambles are hereby made a part of this resolution. That in the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, the public safety, service and welfare can be advanced, (1) by the municipal airport of the city beir:r; extended by acquiring land to extend the same for aviation purposes and (2) b�r development, equipping and improving the municiaD airport as novr con- stituted and as to be extended by the accuisition of land as aforesaid. It is hereby ordered that llurra;r A. TTilson, d oing business as Wilson and Company, "Znmine:irs, being a competent engineer, shall, on or before the day of 1947, make and submit to said Board of Commissioners of said cittr, -mnder oath, a detailed estim-uite of the cost of (1)said land to be acquired and (2) the cost of 5a'id development, f equipping and improving of said airport and that the share of the cost o said city of said land and improvements be specifically set forth' therein. Section: 2. Be it further resolved that the submission of said detailed estimate of cost of said land, development, equippi4, t and improving, aforesaid, is prelinnin«ry to the issuance and sale of _J internal improvement bonds of the City of Salina, duly and regularly authorized, as aforesaid, and as hereafter directed by ordinance.
