CPI ObjectiveCPI Objective
Results from a research study performed by the American Society for Quality and the Metrus Group
indicated that those organizations receiving the highest marks for successful implementation of process
improvement initiatives contained four key elements, which when fully integrated create a “CPI”
(Continuous Process Improvement) culture. These four elements are the Theory of Constraints, Lean, Six
Sigma, and People Equity.

By applying a CPI methodology waste is identified, lean principles are applied, and Six Sigma tools are
used effectively, while expediting the resolution of problems and facilitating the rapid adoption of more
efficient processes.
