SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
June 29, 2012
4:00 p.m.
The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners was called
107, City -County Building. A roll call was taken followed by
moment of silence.
There were present:
Mayor Norman M. Jennings, Presiding Officer
Commissioner Samantha P. Angell
Commissioner Kaye J. Crawford
Commissioner Aaron Householter
Commissioner Barb Shirley
comprising a quorum of the Board, also present:
Jason A. Gage, City Manager
Greg Bengtson, City Attorney
Lieu Ann Elsey, City Clerk
ADMINISTRATION
(3.1) Request for executive session (legal).

the Pledge of Allegiance and a
Moved by Commissioner Shirley, seconded by Commissioner Angell, to recess into executive
session for 15 minutes to discuss with legal counsel matters subject to the attorney-client
privilege for the reason that public discussion of those matters would waive the privilege and
adversely affect the City's interest in the matters and reconvene at 10:18 a.m. Aye: (5). Nay:
(0). Motion carried.
The City Commission reconvened at 10:20 a.m.
Moved by Commissioner Angell, seconded by Commissioner Shirley, to extend the current
executive session for an additional 30 minutes and reconvene at 10:50 a.m. Aye: (5). Nay: (0).
Motion carried.
The City Commission reconvened at 10:55 a.m.
Moved by Commissioner Angell, seconded by Commissioner Householter, to extend the
current executive session for an additional 30 minutes and reconvene at 11:30 a.m. Aye: (5).
Nay: (0). Motion carried.
Commissioner Shirley left at 11:12 a.m.
The City Commission reconvened at 11:42 a.m.
Moved by Commissioner Angell, seconded by Commissioner Householter, to extend the
current executive session for an additional 15 minutes and reconvene at 12:00 p.m. Aye: (4).
Nay: (0). Motion carried.
Commissioner Angell left at 12:37 p.m.
The City Commission reconvened at 12:40 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
Moved by Commissioner Householter, seconded by Commissioner Crawford, that the regular
meeting of the Board of City Commissioners be adjourned. Aye: (3). Nay: (0). Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 12:40 p.m.

WAIVER AND CONSENT TO HOLD A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS
We, the undersigned, being duly elected, qualified and acting City Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas, and constituting a majority of the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas, do hereby waive notice and consent to the holding of a special meeting of the Board
of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, *on the 29th day of June, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in
Room 107 at the City -County Building for:
1. Executive session (legal).
