The City Commission convened at 2:30'p.m.' iiz a Study Session on theI-fealtll Department
and Access.TV budget, requests. The,Regular Meeting,of the Board of Commissioners was
called to order at 4:00 p.m.. in Room 107, City -County Building. A, roll call was ta.keri
followed' by the Pledge of nllegiancc and a moment of silence. -

DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS
None.
ADMINISTRA'T'ION
(8.1) First reading Ordinance No. 1.1: 10612 attesting to the possible increase in taxes
levied for budget year 2012 necessary to finance public services for the City' of
Salina.
Rod Franz, Director of Finance, and Administration, explained that state statute anti
ordinance requirement. Mr. Frani then clarified that this did not necessarily reflect
an increase in the mill levy.
A discussion followed. between Jason.Gage, City Manager, and Mr. Franz regarding
the budget calculations and shifting of funds.
Moved by Commissioner Householter, 'seconded by: Commissioner Crawford, to pass
Ordinance No.,11-10612.on first reading Aye (3).:, Nay: (0).. Motion carried.

OTHER BUSINESS
Jason Gage, City Manager, asked the City'Commission for clarification on the mill levy
and whether staff should republish the, budget notice. 'Lhe City Commission corncurred to
have the notice republished.
Commissioner I- ouseholter commented that it 'was a great weekend in Salina with the
many events that took. place such as the Lead Sled, Thunder Weekend, and the, Steve
.Martin. concert.

Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 4:09 p.m. .
