ORDINANCE NUMBER 02-10111
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
TRACT OF LAND, IN SALINE COUNTY, KANSAS IN CONFORMITY WITH THE
PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-519 TO 12-526, INCLUSIVE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the following described tract of land, to -wit:
A tract of land located in the West Half (W 1/z) of the Northeast Quarter (NE
1/a) and the East Half (E 1/2) of the Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of Section
Eleven (11), Township Fifteen (15) South, Range Three (3) West of the
Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, more particularly
described as follows:
Commencing at the SE Corner of the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of the
Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of Section Eleven (11), Township Fifteen (15)
South, Range Three (3) West; thence West along the south line of the said
Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of said Section
Eleven (11) to the East right-of-way of Interstate Highway I35 and to the
point of beginning;
- Thence South Three degrees Fifty-nine minutes and Thirty-six seconds
West (S. 03° 59' 36" W.), a distance of Four hundred Ninety-four and
Ninety-eight hundredths (494.98) feet along said right-of-way;
- Thence South Zero degrees One minute Forty-three seconds West (S. 00°
01' 43" W.), a distance of Eight hundred Thirty and Ninety-four hundredths
(830.94) feet along said right-of-way to a point on the South line of the East
Quarter (E'/4) of Section Eleven (11), Township Fifteen (15) South, Range
Three (3) West;
- Thence South Eighty-nine degrees Forty-four minutes and Thirty seconds
West (S. 89° 44' 30" W.), a distance of Three hundred Zero hundredths
(300.00) feet along said South line to the west right-of-way line of Interstate
Highway 135;
- Thence South Eighty-nine degrees Forty-four minutes Thirty Seconds
West (S. 89° 44' 30" W.), continuing along said south line a distance of One
thousand Fifty-seven and Seven hundredths (1057.07) feet to the center
corner of said Section Eleven (11), Township Fifteen (15) South, Range
Three (3) West;
- Thence South Eighty-nine degrees Forty-nine minutes Twenty-seven
seconds West (S. 89° 49' 27" W.), continuing along said south line a
distance of One thousand Three hundred Nine and Twenty-one hundredths
(1309.21) feet;
- Thence North Zero degrees Six minutes Fifty-three seconds West (N. 00°
06' 53" W.), a distance of One thousand Three hundred Twenty-five and
Eighty-nine hundredths (1325.89) feet to the SE corner of NW1/4 of the
NW1/4 of Section Eleven (11), Township Fifteen (15) South, Range Three
(3) West;
- Thence North Zero degrees Fifteen minutes Thirty seconds West (N. 00°
15' 30" W.), a distance of One thousand Two hundred Twenty-nine and
Eighty-eight hundredths (1229.88) feet to the South right-of-way line of
Water Well Road;
- Thence South Eighty-seven degrees Sixteen minutes Fifty-eight seconds
East (S. 87° 16' 58" E.), a distance of Eight and Fifty-two hundredths (8.52)
feet along said South right-of-way line;
- Thence North Eighty-nine degrees Forty-nine minutes Twenty-seven
seconds East (N. 89° 49' 27" E.), a distance of One thousand Three hundred
Two and Sixty-five hundredths (1302.65) feet along said South right-of-way
line;

East (N. 89° 49' 44" E.), a distance of One hundred Ninety and Five
hundredths (190.05) feet along said quarter section line;
- Thence North Zero degrees Ten minutes Sixteen seconds West (N. 00°
10' 16" W.), a distance of Fifty-eight and Thirty-one hundredths (58.31)
feet;
- Thence North Thirteen degrees Fifteen minutes One second East (N. 131
15' 01" E.), a distance of Forty-two and Eighty-six hundredths (42.86) feet;
- Thence South Eighty-five degrees Fifty-two minutes Fifty-five seconds
East (S. 85° 52' 55" E.) , a distance of Four hundred One and Twelve
hundredths (401.12) feet;
- Thence North Eighty degrees Fifty-one minutes Twenty-two seconds East
(N. 80° 51' 22" E.), a distance of One hundred Ninety-two and Thirty-five
hundredths (192.35) feet;
- Thence North Twenty degrees Forty-eight minutes Eight seconds East (N.
20° 48' 08" E.), a distance of Six hundred Forty-two and Fifty-seven
hundredths (642.57) feet;
- Thence North Seven degrees Thirty-three minutes Twenty-two seconds
East (N. 07° 33' 22" E.), a distance of Three hundred Sixty-one and Fifteen
hundredths (361.15) feet to a point on the West right-of-way line of
Interstate Highway 135;
- Thence Northerly along said West right-of-way line of Interstate Highway
135, a distance of Two thousand Nine hundred Seventy-eight and Seven
hundredths (2978.07) feet to the North line of the Southwest Quarter (SW'/4)
of the Northeast Quarter (NEI/4) of Section Two (2), Township Fifteen (15)
South, Range Three (3) West;
- Thence East along said North line to the East right-of-way line of
Interstate Highway 135;
- Thence Southerly along the East right-of-way line of Interstate Highway
135 to the South line of the Northeast Quarter (NEI/4) of Section Eleven
(11), Township Three (3) South, Range Three (3) West to the point of
beginning.
Said tract of land is subject to all easements and road right of ways of
record.
The above described tract of land contains Two hundred Seven and Twenty-
three hundredths (207.23 ) acres or 9,027,114 square feet, more or less.
meeting one or more of the classifications for annexation prescribed by K.S.A. 12-519 to 12-526,
inclusive, is hereby annexed and made a part of the City of Salina, Kansas.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption
and publication once in the official city newspaper.
