AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PREREQUISITES TO APPLY FOR CERTIFICATE OF
QUALIFICATION FOR MASTER OR JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER, ENACTING SECTION 9-214.1 OF THE
SALINA CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 9-214.1 of the Salina Code is hereby enacted
to read as follows:
''Section 9-214.1. Prerequisites to apply for certificate
of qualification.
Sec. 9-214.1(1). Master PZunber. A master plumber
applicant shall certify a minimum of six (6) years of
practical experience in the plumbing trade, doing the type of
work he will be required to perform, supervise or direct. Two
(2) years satisfactory work at an accredited trade school and
four (4) years practical experience may be accepted in lieu of
the foregoing requirements.
Sec. 9-214.1(2). Journeyman Plumber. A journeyman
plumber shall certify at least four (4) years of practical
experience in the plumbing trade doing the type of work he
will be required to perform. Two (2) years satisfactory work
in an accredited trade school and three (3) years of practical
experience may be accepted in lieu of the foregoing requirements.''
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
