AN ORDINANCE DEFINING A STREET OR HIGHWAY AND PROVIDING
THAT THE PROVISIONS OF THE UNIFORM TRAFFIC CODE SHALL BE APPLICABL
TO ALL AREAS OPEN TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC; AMENDING THE DEFINITION OF
A STREET AS THE SAME APPEARS IN THE UNIFORM TRAFFIC CODE AND
REPEALING THE EXISTING DEFINITION THEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the Salina Code is hereby amended by adding the
following sections, which sections shall be numbered Sections 38-10 and 38-11,
which sections read as follows:
"Section 38-10. Definition of street or highway.
That in addition to the definition of a 'street or highway'
as set forth in the traffic ordinance for Kansas Cities as adopted
by Ordinance Number 83-8943 the term 'street or highway' shall also
include in addition to those areas specifically enumerated therein,
all areas open to the public for vehicular traffic, whether publicly
or privately maintained.
"Section 38-11. Provisions applicable to areas open to
public vehicular traffic.
The provisions of this chapter and all other traffic
ordinances of the city shall be applicable to all areas open to the
public for vehicular traffic, whether publicly or privately owned."
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper.
