AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING, BY REFERENCE, THE 1982 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM
SIGN CODE, EXCEPT AS MODIFIED BY ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE SALINA CODE,
AMENDING SECTION 9-63 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 9-63 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Section 9-63. Uniform Sign Code adopted.
There is hereby adopted, by reference, by the City for
the purpose of providing minimum standards to safeguard life,
health, property, and public welfare by regulating and
controlling the design, quality of materials, construction,
location electrification, and maintenance of all signs and
sign structures not located within a building, that certain
sign code known as the Uniform Sign Code recommended and
published by the International Conference of Building Officials,
being particularly the 1982 Edition thereof, and the whole
thereof, and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted,
modified, or amended, of which not fewer than three (3) copies
have been and are now on file in the Office of the City Clerk
and the same are incorporated herein as fully as if set out at
length herein and the provisions thereof shall be controlling
in the construction and erection of all signs within the
corporate limits of the City."
Section 2. That the existing Section 9-63 of the Salina Code is
hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from
and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
