85-9090 Buildings(Published in The Salina Journal August/' , 1985) ORDINANCE NUMBER 85-9090 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING, BY REFERENCE, THE 1985 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE AND ALL APPENDICES, EXCEPT AS TO PERMIT AND INSPECTION FEES, AMENDING SECTIONS 8-281 AND 8-282 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 8-281 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 8-281. Uniform Mechanical Code adopted. There is hereby adopted, by reference, by the City for the purpose of providing minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, installation, quality of materials, location, operation, and maintenance of heating, ventilating, cooling, refrigeration systems, incinerators and other miscellaneous heat -producing appliances, that certain mechanical code known as the Uniform Mechanical Code, recommended and published by the International Conference of Building Officials, being particularly the 1985 Edition thereof, and the whole thereof, except as modified by Section 8-282 of the Salina Code, of which not fewer than three (3) copies have been and now are filed in the office of the City Clerk and the same is hereby incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the installation of all heat -producing appliances within the corporate limits of the City." Section 2. That Section 8-282 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 8-282. Permit fees. The fee for each permit or inspection required by the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1985 edition, shall be as set forth in a fee schedule adopted pursuant to Section 2-2 of the Salina Code in lieu of the fees specified in Section 304(a) and (b) of the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1985 edition." Section 3. That the existing Sections 8-281 and 8-282 of the Salina Code are hereby repealed. Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
