CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS
REGULAR MEETING OF THE' 130ARD OF COMMISSIONERS
February 23, 2011
4:00 p.m.
The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners was called to order at 4:00 p.m. in Room 107,
City -County Building. A roll call was taken followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of
silence.
There were present:
Vice -Mayor Samantha P. Angell, Presiding Officer
Commissioner Norman Jennings
Commissioner M. Luci Larson
Commissioner John K. Vanier 11
Absent: Mavor Aaron G. Peck
comprising a quorum of the Board, also present:
Michael D. Schrage, Deputy City Manager
Greg Bengtson, City Attorney
Lieu Ann 1?lsey, City Clerk
ADMINISIRATION
(3.1) Award bids for four (4) marked police package vehicles and one (1) unmarked police
package vehicle.
Chief James D. Hill summarized the bids received, trade-in values, and funding.
Moved by Commissioner Jennings, seconded by Con-Lmissioner Vanier, to award of bid for one
unmarked police package vehicle to Long McArthur Ford in the adjusted amount of $25,605.49 and
four marked police package vehicles to Long McArthur Ford in the amount of $83,109.72. Ave: (4).
Nay: (0). Motion carried.
(3.2) Request for executive session.
Moved by Commissioner Vanier, seconded by Commissioner Larson, to recess into executive
session for 20 minutes to discuss with legal counsel matters subject- to the attorney-client privilege
for the reason that public discussion of those matters would waive the privilege and adversely
affect the City's interest in the matters and reconvene at 4:25 p.m. Aye: (4). Nay: (0). Motion
carried.
ADJOURNMEAT
Moved by Commissioner Jennings, seconded by Commissioner Vanier, that the regular meeting of
the Board of City Commissioners be adjourned. Aye: (4). Nay: (0 Motion c 'ed. The meeting
adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
