RESOLUTION NUMBER 11-6798
A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN,
WITH GOALS FOR THE 2007 — 2016 TIME PERIOD, AS RECOMMENDED
FOLLOWING THE ANNUAL REVIEW BY THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
COMMITTEE.
. WHEREAS, in accordance with state law, the City of Salina has been designated as the
Solid Waste Planning Authority for Saline County; and
WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Management Plan for Saline County, prepared by the Solid
Waste Management Committee, was originally adopted in June 1996 by Resolution Number 96-
5015, conditionally approved by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment in February
1997 and subsequently amended by the Governing Body in May 1998, May 2002, January 2004,
and January 2008; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with requirements of state law, the Solid,Waste Management
Committee has conducted its annual review of the current plan; and
WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Management Committee has recommended no further plan
revisions at this time for the 10 -year time period of 2007 — 2016; and
WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Management Committee recommends the current Solid
Waste Management Plan be affirmed; SO NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the Solid Waste Management Plan for Saline County, Kansas, as amended
and as reviewed by the Solid Waste Management Committee, is hereby affirmed without further
amendment by the City of Salina as the designated planning authority for Saline County.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor thi 24`x' day of January,
2011.
