Resolution No. 00-5592 — Authorizing the exclusive use of Oakdale Park and a portion of Kenwood
Park for the annual Smoky Hill River Festival.
Background:
The River Festival has been held in Oakdale Park annually for over twenty years. In 1991, at the City
Attorney's recommendation, the City Commission formalized the exclusive use authorization, which
had always been informally in place.
This routine resolution replaces the 1991 resolution, in order to clarify that the area involved includes
not only Oakdale Park, but the adjacent portion of Kenwood Park. The area involved includes the
"train" section, shelter house and the green space at the east end of the walking bridges, between
Kenwood Park Drive/Center Street and the river.
Recommended Action:
Approve Resolution No. 00-5592.
