In response to your recent inquiry regarding the City of Salina's
policy of utility extensions to serve a tract of land at the southwest
corner of Ninth Street and Schilling Road, we offer the following
information:
(a) Watermains and sanitary sewer systems to serve commercial property
situated outside the corporate limits of the City of Salina are
permitted only after negotiations through the Director of Utilities
and City Manager, with final approval to be made by the City
Commission.
(b) All such extensions shall conform with the requirements of state
and local health codes.
(c) All costs involved in said utility extensions shall be borne by
the owner of the commercial property desiring service.
(d) A written agreement between the City of Salina and the affected
owner(s) shall specify all conditions, requirements, restrictions,
and the cost of the utility service(s).
