I received your letter dated April 28,. 1980, concerning the Union
Pacific Railroad crossing on Iron Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Enclosed please find a form to be filled out for information to
be used in fabrication of the rubber crossing and a sketch of the
crossing showing a slight curve in the track as this curvature will
be needed. We assume that your company will'be responsible for -all
engineering regarding this crossing.
I have discussed this crossing with Mr. Bryan Lennon with the
Goodyear Company P.O. Box 288 - St. Marys, Ohio 45885. If you have

This is in reference to my telephone conversation with Mr. Nobel,
Roadmaster of the Union.Pacific Railroad Co. in the Salina area, regarding
the repair of your railroad -crossing on Iron Avenue in the City of Salina,.
Kansas.
We would like to discuss the possibility of a joint effort in the
upgrading of the Iron Avenue railroad crossing. Our proposal is to
furnish the rubber pads for this crossing and the Union Pacific Railroad
Co. to furnish and install all other materials. Also, the installation
of the rubber pads -to complete the crossing.
We would like to know if your company is interested in this type of
arrangement and can schedule the repair work upon the arrival of the
rubber crossing in Salina, Kansas.
I talked to Mr. Hyatt, with Goodyear Rubber Co. in Akron, Ohio and
he informed me that there is a four (4) to six (6) week delivery date on
the crossing.
We are in a position to order the rubber crossing whenever we can
confirm an agreement between the. Union Pacific Railroad Co. and the City
of Salina for this installation. Please advise.at.your earliest convenience.
