OLSON MSA CODE SII N, 1E77 At their regular meeting of June 13, 1978, the Salina Park Advisory Board unanimously voted to recommend that a five -member committee, with two Park Board members included, be appointed to conduct a contest for the naming of the new park in southeast Salina. The Board also voted to accept the offer by the Salina• Journal to print a coupon in their newspaper and to post a $250 prize for the winning entry. This five -member committee would contact the other news media to invite their participation in the contest, which would be scheduled to start in July and continue for 30 days. It was also unanimously recommended that the following parcels of land (as identified on the attached map) presently included in the parks,system, be dis- posed of and the money be reverted back as park funds: 1. That part of Thomas 2. Park No. 1, located 3. Park No. 2, located 4. Park No. 3, located S. Park No. 5, located Park on the east side of US 81; / north of North Street and east of Broadway; west of Broadway, between North and Logan; west of Broadway and north of Ash; and at the southeast corner of University and Broadway. A motion was unanimously approved to recommend the development of Park No. 7, located south of Village Missionary Church, between Osage and Broadway, into a neighborhood park. Description of Real Estate to be Sold and -Title: In considera- tion of the stipulations herein contained and the payments to be made by the City as hereinafter specified, Ricklefs hereby agree .to sell unto the City and the City agrees to purchase from Ricklefs the following described real estate situated in Saline County, Kansas, to wit: A tract of land consisting of approximately twelve (12) acnes located adjacent to Thomas Park in Salina, Saline County, Kansas, the exact description of which is set forth on Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference and Ricklefs agree to convey the above described real estate to the City by general warranty deed, with an abstract of title.certified to date showing good and marketable title, or an owners Policy of Title Insurance in an amount of the sale price guaranteeing said title.to the City, free and clear of all liens and encuTbranoes,. except all restrictions and easements of record applying to this property, it being understood that Ricklefs shall. have sufficient time to bring said abstract to date or obtain a report for title insurance and to correct any imperfections in the title, if there be any such imperfections. (2). Purchase Price and Payment: The City hereby covenants and agrees to pay to Ricklefs the sun of Four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($4,500), which amount,Ricklefs agree to accept as the full purchase price for the above described real estate.
