CITY ENGINEER February 3, 1986 Re: Street Right-of-way Prospect Avenue Dear Sir: ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT 300 WEST ASH STREET P.O. BOX 736 SALINA, KANSAS 67402-0736 AREA CODE 913 827-9481 DONALD E. HOFF, P.E. ASST. CITY ENGINEER D.W. BASSETT TRAFFIC ENGINEER At the request of several property owners in the Cloverdale Addition and in the Thomas White Subdivision (1300, 1400 and 1500 Blocks of Prospect Avenue) regarding access to their properties, we are attempting to determine if sufficient interest exists among the property owners in this area to dedicate a.portion of their property for public right-of- way purposes. No public street right-of-way currently exists in these three blocks of Prospect Avenue. The existing roadway is located on private access easements and is not a city (public) street. This dedication would involve, for owners in the Cloverdale Addition, a strip of land 172 ft. in width along the north side of the traveled way of Prospect Avenue. For the owners in the Thomas White Subdivision, this dedication would involve a strip of land 17h ft. in width along their north property lines (area currently utilized as roadway). The City of Salina would not maintain the roadway or issue any building permits for structures in this three block area until public street right-of-way is granted by the property owners. I would appreciate if you would call me to discuss the proposed dedica- tion procedure with me at your earliest convenience. Sincerely, Don Hoff, P.E. DH:mp MEMBER ...
