Lot 15, Block 15, Belmont Addition
Dear Mr. Knox:
In reviewing your recent construction work adjacent to the above
referenced Lot 15, we find the following deficiencies:
(a) In removing monolithic curbing, a saw cut must be made in
the concrete pavement at least 24" from the back of the
existing curb as shown in the "Specifications For Concrete
Work." This minimum requirement was not followed.
(b) Jack Ayers delivered a copy of our standard detail for
rolled curbing to you and advised you to make a template
of this standard rolled curb to assure that your new
curb would meet our standards. Measurements taken of
the curbing you placed last week indicate this work does
not conform to our standards for curb height, etc.
(c) The "Specifications For Concrete Work" state that the
curb and gutter shall be protected from premature drying
by damp mats of burlap or an approved curing compound.
We found neither method had been utilized.
The Salina City Code provides for the regulation of construction of
concrete work located on public right-of-way. After due consideration,
we are hereby directing you to remove and reconstruct within 15
calendar days all work adjacent to the above referenced Lot 15 not in
compliance with the Salina City Code.
