Dear Mr. Hoff:
Starting April 19, 1982, Kansas Power and Light Company will
be installing magnesium anodes on our natural gas distribution
mains in Salina. The construction areas are highlighted on the
enclosed maps. It is hoped that these maps and the assistance
of KPL's local corrosion technician, Charles Clark, can help
alleviate any construction problems with your system.
A short meeting (about one hour) is scheduled for Friday,
April 16, 1982, 10:00 a.m., at the Salina KPL offices, 1300 E.
Iron Street, Salina. In the past, all parties whose systems
may be affected, KPL project supervisors and the contractor (s),
have found this pre—construction meeting to be very beneficial
and we are therefore urging all to attend.

Charles Clark at the KPL General Office in Salina. Thank you

Notes:
1. All concrete used shall have 4,000 P.S.I. 28 day compressive
strength and shall have the following specifications per
cubic yard:

minimum cure time for this mix shall be 7 days. Contractor
may wish to substitute an 8 sack mix (cure time of 1 day) to
minimize equipment investments (barricades, etc.).
2, All backfills to be sand or to have 90-95% density after
compaction. Backfill to be compacted by jetting or
vibration with interval vibrator.
3. All alleys to be backfilled as in (2.), topped with 3" layer
of surface road gravel.
4. Additional material specifications will be determined later.
