Dear Mr. Moore:
Federal law requires that Urban Area Boundaries (UAB) be reviewed
by appropriate local officials each time a census is conducted. This
process is now underway and we are requesting your assistance in the
review and approval of Urban Area Boundaries, functional classifica-
tions, and federal -aid systems in your county.
Enclosed herewith are copies of the following documents:
1) A federal -aid systems map of the City of
showing the previously approved 1976 Urban Area BoundarY (UAB)
which has been reviewed and approved by city officials
(any changes in federal -aid systems necessitated by the
changes in UAB are also shown on the map);
2) A current federal -aid systems (shows your current
FAS system) map and functional classification map
of your county showing the changes as reviewed and
approved by the city;
3) Five (5) copies of D.O.T. Form No. 1301 for your future- --- —,---

use in requesting changes to your Federal -Aid Secondary. _
system. .
We are requesting the assistance of the Board of County Commissioners
in making the following reviews:
1) Review and approve the changes in Urban Area
Boundary;
2) Review and approve any changes in functional classifi
cation and federal -aid systems necessitated by the UAB
change;

3) Review and re -affirm the remainder of the functional
classification and federal -aid system designations
in the county.
Please note that the usual procedures for requesting Federal -Aid
system changes utilizing D.O.T. Form No. 1301 have not changed. We
are simply requesting your assistance in approving Urban Area Boundary
changes and in.re-affirming your present functional classifications and
federal -aid systems. A signature block is attached to this letter for
your indication of approval. Please have the appropriate signatures
affixed to one copy of the attachment and return it by April 20, 1983
