It has been brought to my attention that your firm constructed a
concrete driveway on public right-of-way at 1928 Valley View Road. Our
inspector, upon arriving at the site on July 23, 1984, determined your
firm did not have a construction permit and the construction of the
approach did not meet the City's minimum standards. The slab was formed
for only a 4" thickness and no wings were formed.
Your crew raised the forms to construct a 6" slab and were advised
to notify our office for an inspection when the wings were ready to be
placed. The wings were constructed at a.later date without any notification
to our inspector from your office. A construction permit was subsequently
obtained by your firm for this work.
The wings apparently were constructed with a slab thickness on less
than 6" and, therefore, must be removed. All future construction at this
address or any other location within the City of Salina must conform with
City Codes.
Your firm will not be issued any future construction permits until the
construction at 1928 Valley View Drive is modified to meet City Codes. If
you have any questions concerning this decision, please contact me.
