The City of Salina awarded a contract for a channel change in the
Replat of Georgetown Addition (SE; SW; Sec. 17, T14S, R2W) and in
the Presbyterian Manor Subdivision (SW; SW4 Sec. 17, T14S, R2W) in
March, 1984, and construction was completed in October, 1984. The
old natural channel meandered through Lots 17-21, Block 5, and
through Lots 9 and 10, Block 6, Replat of Georgetown Addition. As
a result of the channel change contract, the new alignment of the
channel is located along the east side (rear) of Lots 9 through 16,
Block 6, Replat of Georgetown Addition and along the west boundary
of a part of Lot 1, Block 1, Presbyterian Manor Subdivision.
Panel 15 of 20 of our Flood Insurance Rate Map indicates property
along the old natural channel alignment to be within an "A" Zone
(unlettered/unnumbered). We have computed the controlling Base
Flood Elevations for the new channel and have shown these BFE's on
Sheet 3 of 3 of the channel construction plans.
In order to administer our flood hazard boundary zoning, it is
necessary certain revisions be made to the Flood Insurance Rate
Maps to reflect the above described channel change. We are enclosing
a copy of a portion of the plat of the Replat of Georgetown Addition,

showing the boundary of the "A" Zone as shown on current Flood
Insurance Rate Maps. Enclosed is also a set of construction plans
of the new channel change.
Please review the submittals and advise us of your determination of
the boundaries of the "A" Zone in the Replat of Georgetown Addition
and Presbyterian Manor Subdivision as a result of the channel change.
