In response to your letter to the City, dated February 2, 1983 requesting
a permit to construct a stairway on the south side of the Kresge Building,
546 So. Santa Fe Avenue, we offer the following information:

(2) Ed Warmack, in 1959, dedicated the above described 10 feet
of land to the public, provided the City widened Prescott
Street but until Prescott Street is so widened, Mr. Warmack
retains full ownership of this 10 foot strip of land.
(3) The City of Salina has not widened Prescott Street to date,
therefore, the 10 foot strip is still private property and
thus no permit will be required to construct the requested
stairway on the 10 foot strip of land.

Gentlemen:
We have secured a lease for the west 1/3 of
the Kresge building and plan to make the move in March.
We would like your consideration in the matter of steps
at the rear of the store, extending onto the sidewalk,
as per attached plan. The elevation of the store is
three (3) steps above the sidewalk. A back entrance
would be a great help in the traffic flow as well as
an extra exit in case of an emergency.
Your consideration in this matter will be
greatly appreciated.
