As a result of recent building expansion at the Salina Country
Club, certain cast iron water mains on the south side of the existing
club house had to be relocated by your firm. A meeting was held on
the site on November 25, 1981 to discuss the required relocation and
all parties agreed to a specified plan.
Another meeting was held on December 8, 1981, attended by a
representative of your firm; Imler Plumbing Co.; Salina Water Dept.;
and myself, to discuss revisions to the November 25, 1981 plan. Due
to site conditions and construction schedules, certain portions of
the water main modification was deemed to be temporary construction.
As stated at the December 8, 1981 meeting, we have no objection
to the revised construction plan,. provided certain conditions are
met by your firm:
(a) Adequate concrete blocking must be provided at all fit-
ting locations.
(b) All water mains not having at least four (4) feet of earth
cover shall be protected from freezing. Use electric heat-
ing tape, insulation materials, etc. to prevent the water
main from freezing. If any portion of this water main is
allowed to freeze, the quantity of water available for fire
protection at the Salina Country Club will be very limited.

(c) Notify our department when you have completed the blocking
and insulation work.
(d) The City of Salina shall not be responsible for any damage
caused by frozen water lines or improper blocking of fit-
tings.
