Re: First State Bank Detached Facility - 1333 West Crawford
Avenue - Salina, Kansas .
Dear Mr. Frank:
Regarding your letter of June 10, 1974, requesting
permission to extend an existing twenty-five foot driveway
to a fifty-two and one-half foot driveway at the above
referenced location, we offer the following suggestions:
We feel that with a possible four lanes of traffic
coming from the bank area onto a high traffic count arterial
street, such as Crawford Avenue, would create both congestion
and confusion for traffic on Crawford Avenue and,greatly
increase the possibility for accidents at this location.
We feel that it would be much safer to have a minor amount
of merging of the traffic leaving the bank facility prior
to the point of entering onto Crawford Avenue. We would
suggest the closing of part of the existing driveway and
the construction of a 30 foot driveway in the proper location
to accommodate the bank drive-in area. This would not require
any special permit. Please refer to the attached drawing.
